What’s for dinner tonight?

Tonights dish consisted of lots & lots of her favorite sauce, SAMBAL. Never heard of it? Well you’ve definetly had it before and just didn’t know that that’s what you were eating! Sambal is a hot sauce typically made from a mixture of variety of chili peppers with secondary ingredients such as shrimp paste, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, shallot, palm sugar, lime juice & typically a rice wine vinegar.

For tonights dish she made Sesame peanut sesame noodles, asian marinated grilled chicken breast, & grilled peppers. YUM!

Recipe:

Whole wheat spaghetti

2 tablespoons of rice vinegar

3 teaspoons of sambal (depending on how spicy you like it)

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 cloves garlic

teaspoon of fresh ginger grated

1 cup of peanut butter

1 teaspoon of water (to thin it out)

Chef Notes: Cook pasta al dente. Cook garlic in sautée pan, add vinegar and sambal , followed by soy sauce , ginger and peanut butter . Mix together. Cook about 2 min. If too think add one teaspoon of water at a time. Add cooked noodles and toss. Finally, garnish with cilantro & scallions.
