Recently been cooking with lots and lots of red cabbage. This vibrant vegetable isn’t just full of hearty and delicious flavors, but tons of nutrients!

Red Cabbage Facts

  • Red cabbage is a great source of the flavonoids, a powerful antioxidant that can help protect your body against serious illnesses such as cancer.
  • It is the flavonoids in the cabbage that give it its color.
  • Red cabbage is high in fiber, which aids in digestion by forcing out all the bad stuff in one’s body along the way.
  • Red cabbage has ten times more vitamin A and twice as much iron as green cabbage.

Red cabbage can also be used as a natural dye for cloth or food. Let’s get crafty with cabbage!

Chef’s Notes

For extra flavor, place shredded cabbage in a pan, add apple cider vinegar, mustard seeds, and finish with butter for a creamy side dish! This delicious vegetable goes great with pork just so you know!
