Drunken Mussels

For this next recipe, there’s no gym membership necessary to gain these mussels! What’s even better, there’s wine involved! For fish lovers like myself and those looking to try something new and delicious, this recipe is for you! Simple and easy, just takes a moment to gather your ingredients. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 shallots, thinly sliced
  • fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  •  1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 cups white wine
  • 4 cups heavy cream
  • freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • salt (to taste)
  • 2 pounds mussels, cleaned
  • 1 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • lemon wedges for garnish
  • blended oil

 

Directions:

When starting this delicious recipe, start by getting a saute pan hot with oil, garlic, shallots and fresh thyme. Next, add 2 pounds of cleaned mussels to the pan. Salt to taste. Then, add your wine and heavy cream, allowing this mixture to reduce. Once reduced, finish with fresh lemon juice, and fresh parsley to top it off. Serve this delicious meal with a thick slice of bread to soak up all the juices left behind!
