Persimmons is latin for “Food of the Gods” if that’s why you were wondering why that’s the name of our latest post! Some of you may be looking at the photo thinking it was just a yellow tomato, but think again! This bright and vibrant fruit is actually Japan’s national fruit and that’s where it originated from. Let’s get right to it & find out more on this tasty fruit & how to use it!

Persimmon and Goat Cheese Salad


  • 6 cups greens (mixed, any style)
  • 1 Fuyu persimmon, diced
  • 1 small apple, diced
  • ½ cup soft goat cheese, crumbled
  • 3 Tbsps sliced almonds, toasted
  • 4 Tbsps. tangerine juice
  • 2 Tbsps olive oil
  • ½ tsp dijon mustard
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
