Sautéed Broccolini

Sautéed Broccoloni

Seeking that perfect side dish? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered for tonight’s family dinner! Change it up, stop doing that boring steamed broccoli out of a bag. Head over to the fresh produce section at your local market and pick up a head of broccolini. Best known as, broccoli rabe. So easy to cook and takes the same amount of time regular broccoli would, if not less. Let’s get started …

What you’ll need

Ingredients:

  • Olive oil
  • 2 bunches broccoli rabe
  • salt (to taste)
  • black ground pepper (to taste)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced/finely sliced)
  • crushed red pepper (optional) – spice

How-to

Just like any other green and vibrant vegetable, you want to blanch your bunches of broccoli rabe to start. After about 4 minutes in the boiling water, transfer to an ice water bath. Finally, begin sautéing your broccoli rabe in a hot pan, finishing with the garlic and seasonings to taste.
